In 2013, AR Rahman was auditioning for Coke Studio. “During this time I also discovered the songwriter in me.” Music maestro to the rescue In hindsight, Shashaa calls it a “blessing in disguise,” because it was during the hiatus that she ventured into music direction and production along with composer Tanishk Bagchi. These trips cemented her belief in herself because, as she says, “Hearing my parents tell me to leave it all and come back home helped me get back and go at it with a vengeance all over again.” By 2011 she was better and decided to stay on in Mumbai. Between 20 she made multiple trips back home since she was unwell and undergoing treatment. Since her parents were musically inclined she was encouraged to sing and perform for charitable organisations. It is a modern version of dubstep with an Arabic touch of AR.Rahman’s Humma. As for the music, it has a beat drop to watch out for towards the end and the entire song seems well made and mixed and caters to the audiences of today. The cuts are apt and compliment the dubstep used in the song. The lighting is also wonderful and camera work by Ravi.K.Chandran is top notch. The pair of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor is extremely convincing and they share an outstanding chemistry that backs up the strong technical team behind the scenes.Īnother highlight of the video is the presence of some real brilliantly choreographed dance moves that go hand in hand with the pace of the song. The video is refreshing and sensuous with some real intimate scenes. This version of the Humma song is very interesting as it has a remixed version of the original AR.Rahman song by Badshah and Tanishk. ![]() It was a yesteryear hit number by AR.Rahman for the film Bombay. The Humma song has been recreated for OK Jaanu. ![]()
